The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is excited to be part of this year's Shop With A Cop event! This annual event, marking its 15th year, allows our deputies and other law enforcement officers, the opportunity to spend the morning with over 200 kids for back-to-school shopping.
Partnering agencies, such as The Boys & Girls Club, Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), and Portland Police's Sunshine Division, have identified children from low income families from around the area, to join our law enforcement officers in an unforgettable morning of clothes and school supply shopping. This program would not be possible without the support of Fred Meyer who generously sponsored the event, and will offer significant discounts for these kids to get the supplies they need to start the school year off right!
"All children in our community deserve the opportunity to start the school year off with new clothes and the supplies they need, it's a privilege for MCSO to be a part of making this possible for the kids," noted Sheriff Mike Reese.
Sheriff Reese and Chief Deputy Jason Gates will be joined by other MCSO deputies and local law enforcement officers at the Gateway Fred Meyer tomorrow morning, August 23, 2017, starting at 7:00 a.m..
