MCSO deputies will be have enhanced DUII enforcement patrols beginning Friday, February 2 through Monday, February 5, 2018. We'll be partnering with PPB and OSP for a joint-mission with focused patrols during and after the Super Bowl on February 4.
No matter which team you're cheering for in the big game, have a plan this Super Bowl Weekend. Be the MVP. If you're drinking, do not drive.
* Designate a sober driver
* Call a taxi or ride-sharing service
* Use public transportation
MCSO, PPB, OSP, and NHTSA want to remind you that any time you drive under the influence of alcohol, you put everyone in danger, including yourself and your passengers.
In 2016, there were 10,497 fatalities in motor vehicle traffic crashes involving drunk drivers. Among those, over 7,000 were crashes in which at least one driver had a BAC of .15, almost twice the legal limit.
