*Update* An Adult in Custody assigned to Work Crew steals an ODOT Work Truck (Photo)

MCSO deputies and PPB officers have cleared a residence on the 1700 block of NE 52nd Avenue where the suspect, Scott Smith, was thought to have been inside. He was not located in the residence and MCSO and PPB are continuing to investigate the incident and search the area.

Smith was last seen wearing tan Carhardt pants, a green jacket, and black work boots. He is 6'1", 150 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. He has multiple tattoos including some visible on his neck.

Smith was serving a 90-day Parole Violation sanction on an original charge of Identity Theft. If you see him or have information about his whereabouts, call 911 and do not approach him.

Additional information will be provided as the investigation moves forward.

On March 22, 2018 at approximately 12:22 p.m., an adult in custody assigned to MCSO's Work Crew stole an ODOT work truck from the 9400 block of NE Hancock Drive in Portland. In conjunction with ODOT, MCSO's Work Crew were conducting a cleanup of a green space near the area. The ODOT work truck was reportedly left unlocked and running at the time of the theft.

The suspect is identified as Scott M. Smith, 25, of Portland. Responding Officers and Deputies have located the ODOT truck a short distance away and are searching the area for the suspect. No additional information is available at this time and updates will be released as they become available.
