15 year old drowns at Oxbow Park (Photo)

On Monday, August 12th, 2019, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a swimmer that had gone missing at Oxbow Park on the Sandy River. Emergency responders from the Metro Park Rangers, Corbett Fire, Gresham Fire, United States Coast Guard, Trauma Intervention Program (T.I.P.), American Medical Response (A.M.R.), and the MCSO Dive Team responded to the scene. Sheriff Mike Reese also responded to the scene. At approximately 5:55 p.m. the body of a deceased 15 year old male was recovered from the water by MCSO Dive Team members

The body was released to the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office.

 

This is the second drowning at Oxbow Park in two weeks. There are life jackets available to borrow at the park. Please wear one and have a plan when you are in or around the water.
