The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office will have extra deputies on patrol throughout the year due to grant funds provided by the Oregon Department of Transportation. These extra patrols will occur during dates when the Sheriff's Office anticipates a higher numbers of impaired drivers that are likely to be on the roadways.
These High Visibility Enforcement events are designed to increase the number of law enforcement officers on the streets nationwide with an emphasis on seeking out drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs and removing them from the roadways.
