On the evening of 05/02/2017 deputies responded to a call of an intoxicated driver who had crashed into a home in the 8400 block of SE 172nd Ave. The residents were home at the time of accident, and were not injured.

The suspect contacted the residents and told them not to call the police and asked to hide inside the home. When he was denied entry to the home, he ran off first hiding in a culvert, then an unlocked garage nearby.

Witnesses told the arriving deputies that the suspect had run into the garage. The suspect refused to comply and come out of the building. K9 Ranger arrived and was able to find the suspect who immediately surrendered without further incident. The dog did not make contact with the suspect, his presence alone persuaded the suspect to come out to awaiting deputies.

The driver was identified as 27 year old, Vincente L Burciago of Portland,OR. He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Misdemeanor Fail to Perform Duties of a Driver, Criminal Mischief I, Felony DUII, and Felony Driving While Suspended. Burciago also had outstanding warrants from Clackamas County.
