On June 8, 2017 at approximately 8:50pm deputies responded to a report of a theft in progress at the Wood Village Kohl's. Shortly after deputies arrived at the store, they observed the suspect get into a vehicle.
Deputies pulled in behind the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop in front of the store. At the same time, another deputy attempted to position their vehicle in front of the suspect to prevent them from leaving. The suspect accelerated forward, striking the front of the deputy's patrol car, causing damage to the patrol car.
The suspect then led deputies on a vehicle pursuit through Wood Village and Troutdale. Deputies terminated the pursuit near the Troutdale Airport after the suspect's driving became too dangerous. Several minutes later the suspect was spotted on foot in the 23000 block of NE Marine Drive.
A perimeter was established with the assistance of officers from the Fairview and Gresham Police Departments, and MCSO K9 Ranger began searching the area. Approximately one hour later, SUZANNE SELMAN, age 45, was located by Ranger and taken into custody without further incident.
SELMAN was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on multiple charges, including Robbery in the First Degree, Felony Elude, and Reckless Driving.
