This afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m. the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and Gresham Fire Department responded to the report of a traffic accident involving a semi-truck and a motorcycle at the intersection of Graham Rd. and Frontage Rd. North. The motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
Preliminary investigation indicates both vehicles were taking the westbound off ramp from I-84 at Exit 17, when the motorcycle initially attempted to turn right at the intersection, and changed course and collided with the semi-truck. The driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
The East County Vehicular Crimes Team has responded to conduct the accident investigation. The East County Vehicular Crimes Team consists of MCSO deputies, Gresham Police and Fairview Police officers along with the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office. The area surrounding Graham Rd. and Frontage Rd. is expected to remain closed for the next few hours while the investigation is being conducted.
