Captain Steve Alexander has been assigned to new duties within the Sheriff's Office. Effective September 30, 2016, the Public Information Officer will be Lieutenant Chad Gaidos.
Lieutenant Gaidos has been with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office for the last 23 years, working a variety of assignments including correctional facilities, inmate transports, life safety officer, and policy development. In addition to these, Lieutenant Gaidos also served as liaison with the Corrections Grand Jury and worked with community members and staff to develop a new Transgender Booking Policy. Lieutenant Gaidos is a member of the Sheriff's Office Honor Guard, a unit dedicated to representing the agency at formal functions. With a proven track record of success in new opportunities, Lieutenant Gaidos will be a valuable asset to the agency as the new Public Information Officer.
